When you delete your browser history, is it REALLY deleted?

When I was in my teenage, I thought that formatting my flash drive literally erases all the data and it is like gone forever.

However, once I accidentally erased something important on my flash drive and went to a friend asking for a solution. He simply had the USB plugged into his computer, used software and everything that has been erased was recovered successfully.

That was one eye-opening experience for me.

Since then, I have researched about it many times, and I have concluded that no, the digital is never fully erased. they are saved somewhere else in some other shape which we may not be able to recognize.

For example, a 30 or 40 MB photo may be reduced to KBs and being stored in some specific folder in some server. You won’t be able to retrieve it possibly, but anyone with advanced tech and knowledge will be.
